We started working for the caravan club in June 2010 and in February 2013 we were promoted to wardens running our own site in Richmond, North Yorkshire. During 2014 & 2015 we ran Rowntree Park Caravan Club Site in York. In 2016 we took over at Park Coppice in Coniston, Cumbria.

Broken Thumb
Well, it has finally happened... Carl has broken bones! It may have taken 6 months but for those of you who know Carl may have expected this to happen much sooner. The irony of it is that we weren't even working at the time, we were taking down our full size awning on Sunday, so that the caravan could be serviced at the end of this week. Whilst moving paving slabs he caught his thumb between two flags. At first we though he had just stubbed it very badly, as it went black almost straight away. On Monday morning the pain hadn't subsided so he went to the walk in clinic in Folkestone, where it was lanced & X-rayed. He was told that he has a compress fracture on this thumb. And, in true Carl style, he has this fracture on his left hand, and Yes - he is left handed too. Men eh!!!

I have to give the thumbs up sign (did I just say that) for the fact that he has got through life without breaking anything..........yet. He could have broken a few pub windows playing pool in the past, but to break a thumb is bad luck. With a pot arm, he won't be potting any balls for a while, but then again, he never did.
ReplyDeleteThumbs down sign for the break, but then again, he never did make much of a break at pool either.
